Saman Omer was born in 1972 in the beautiful city of Silemani in Southern Kurdistan. Ever since he was a kid, Saman loved music and hoped that one day he would start to sing and record his own songs. In 1993, he recorded his first song and on that same year, joined the Kurdish Folk Group and participated in many music festivals along with the group. After 1997, Saman went solo and recorded many other songs. Saman is married and has a wife and two childrens, Kajya and Kojin. Saman is still recording songs and coming out with new cds every once in a while. He is now the supervisor of a music and video production company called Chwar Chra (in Silemani).
